MIKE’S STAND ON ISSUES

Problems:	Mike's Solutions:
Traffic	Traffic light synchronization; push for C.S. Floyd extension to Hwy 20 South one-way and Main Street North one-way; traffic lights at Tommy Lee Fuller and Sharon Church at Conyers Road and at Tara on Hwy 81 S.; rear entrance/exit to Pecan Street at the Post Office.
Residential Taxes	Increase homestead exemption for seniors; impact fees to be paid by developers; Community Improvement District west on 78 to increase our commercial tax base; more emphasis on commercial development.
Infrastructure	Seek additional water sources including wells; increase sewage plant capacity for commercial development; construct 1-million gallon water tank.
Rising gas prices	Convert non-emergency city vehicles to natural gas.

 

Mike's Ideas for Loganville:

• A farmer's market in the rear parking area behind Main Street for fresh local fruits and vegetables.
• More pocket parks (like Kirkland Toddler Park) in neighborhoods, increasing greenspace and walking trails, continuing the revitalization of Gaither Park.
• Install sidewalks on all major streets and highways with Local Area Paving Grants (LARP) & Transportation Enhancement Grants (TEA).
• Attract restaurants, business and entertainment for downtown area.
• Establish a "Town Green" for concerts, movies, ice skating, etc.
• Promote mixed-use developments (residential & commercial) in "Old Town".
• Seek $2 million-dollar State of Georgia Library construction/improvement grant.
• Construct a new fire station at Old Loganville Road, containing a community room and voting precinct.

Mike wants to keep Loganville a great place to raise children and grandchildren, a place everyone will be proud to call "home". He wants to keep the same small-town values which make Loganville unique, while embracing controlled growth that will benefit the City of Loganville. He wants to be your mayor - accessible, understanding and determined to serve Loganville and its citizens.
